What is Kusadasi in Turkey like?

One of the most well-liked tourist attractions in Turkey is Kusadasi, which is situated on the country’s south-west coast and overlooks the Greek island of Samos in the Aegean Sea. On Turkey’s west coast, Kusadasi, which was once a small fishing village, has now developed into a thriving vacation destination.

Since Bodrum International Airport is only a 90-minute drive from Kusadasi and Izmir Airport is only 45 minutes away by car from Kusadasi, both airports are convenient for travel from much of Europe and are only four hours from the United Kingdom.

Cruise liners visit Kusadasi

This gorgeous resort has seen rapid expansion in recent years and now has 2,500 resident permits held by foreigners living in and around Kusadasi. Each year, some 900 cruise ships stop at the port. The infrastructure in Kusadasi town and surrounding areas is good. Many Western high-street brands, like Tesco (Kipa), B&Q, and others, are represented here.

Kusadasi Beaches

In Kusadasi, there are 8 beaches to select from. The well regarded Ladies Beach is a broad stretch of golden sand backed by a stylish promenade lined with a variety of eateries and cafes serving food and drinks all day long. For those who prefer a more active day at the beach, a range of water activities are available, including windsurfing, which is very popular at this beach. There are lots of sun loungers and umbrellas for hire, perfect for lounging in the sunshine. Long Beach is another option, and it’s fantastic for snorkelling and water sports.

Pamuk Beach has a wide expanse of beach and plenty of room to accommodate everyone. A number of all-inclusive hotels line the shoreline. There is Kustur Beach, which is typically less crowded and offers a peaceful option.

Kusadasi Waterparks

There are three water parks nearby Kusadasi as well. For a start, there is Aqualand in Kusadasi Long Beach. Aqua Fantasy, a component of a posh hotel and spa complex that also features DJs and dance performances, is located on the outskirts. The dolphin and marine park in Adaland is the last but certainly not the least.

Sightseeing in Kusadasi

Only 30 minutes separate you from Ephesus’ ancient ruins including the Temple of Artemis and the Roman Library. The house where the Virgin Mary is reputed to have passed away is located not far from the city. Also essential stops are Priene and Miletos.

Areas of Kusadasi

DAVUTLAR is located near the Dilek Peninsula and just south of Kusadasi, Davutlar is a rapidly developing neighbourhood. The region is calm and serene and offers a wide variety of sandy beaches with cool, clear waters that separate you from the Island of Samos, making it a fantastic place to sit and watch the sun set. Davutlar is only 9 kilometres from Kusadasi’s city centre and is easily reached by public transportation. Davutlar is a traditional farming community where you can pause and purchase delicious fruits and vegetables on the side of the road, but it is quickly emerging as a magnet for investors.

SOGUCAK is a tranquil, friendly community with lovely surroundings. The town centre of Kusadasi is located 11 kilometres away and offers a wide selection of charming stores, cafes, fantastic taverns, and restaurants. The distance to the stunning and well-known Paradise Beach is about 1.5 kilometres.

Kusadasi Golf

What’s on in Kusadasi throughout 2024!!

Izmir International Fair – September (date to be confirmed) – This event is being held at the Kültür Park in the city. Every year the fair is set to a theme and displays both entertainment and trade.  Come along and enjoy a host of exhibitions, performances, plays and concerts, plus there plenty of adventurous activities to keep the children entertained.  

Ephesus Festival of Culture and Art – May (date to be confirmed) – This annual festival is filled with concerts and performances held in the ruins of the Great Theatre of Ephesus. 

Izmir European Jazz Festival – (date to be confirmed) – This annual festival is held throughout the month bringing together people and performers from all over celebrating Jazz styles from all across Europe. 

International Cesme Folk Dance and Music Festival – 7th September till 11th September – Dance groups and Musical performers from all over come together at this annual event to celebrate their culture and countries through a variety of spectacular performances.  

Ferries between Turkey and Greece

Kusadasi to Samos: These two locations create the ideal pair; therefore a trip from both sides is essential. Samos is a magnificent Greek island that is not far from the shores of Kusadasi. During the summer, crossings are accessible twice daily, and the trip takes just 80 minutes. Samos is well-known for its sweet wine and offers visitors a wealth of charming mediaeval towns and golden beaches to explore.

Before reaching the harbour, on the right, is the fish market in Kusadasi. The day’s fresh catch is available. You may buy a variety of fish here, including mackerel, octopus, sea bass, grey mullet, red mullet, anchovy, sea bream, and squid.

Ephesus has a long history dating back to 3000 BC. It is one among the world’s most exquisite ancient cities. It was a place of pilgrimage for the Virgin Mary, Artemis, and Cybele in that order.
