Belek to Host 2012 World Amateur Team Golf Championship

2012 will see Belek host the World Amateur Golf Championships.It is an honour for Turkey to be chosen to host the championships as it is such a new nation in the sport only set up in 1996. The three chosen courses will be, Gloria Golf Club, Cornelia Golf Club and Antalya Golf Club

It is estimated around 1500 players will participate in the championship, along with a very large number of spectators visiting the lovely resort of Belek. Many British Golfers have already played these courses, and come back year after year.

Turkey has grown rapidly in the Golfing world and, as a country is committed to opening a further 100 new golf courses over the next 4 years, in 2008 Golf Tour operators voted Turkey, "best golf destination in Europe".

Earlier in November, Turkey hosted the International Golf Tourism Fair,another prestigous event putting Turkey and the Belek Region firmly on the international Golf Map.
