Over the next few years Altinkum will see a dramatic change. Current projects include a large marina, which is currently ahead of schedule, and may be completed by the end of 2008, this will be home for more than 600 yachts and boats, and will be surrounded by a Shopping centre, Restaurants, Bars, New Hotels and many other facilities. 2008 will see the existing Harbour offering boat trips to Kos, Samos and Patmos, add to this the addition of a Golf Course in the near future planned for the Akbuk Rd, the profile of this town will be firmly set on the tourist map. In addition to this a new covered market (bazaar) is well under way and nearly finished.

Tourist figures recently announced for the month July showed 3.6 million tourists entered compared with 3.1 the previous year.
According to ABTA, Turkey is doing well for early bookings for 2008, did you know Turkey has Blue Flag Beaches? Altinkum Beach being one of these.
Currently the Turkish Lira is the second best performing in the emerging markets, and held this position for 2007.
