There has never been such a good time to visit Turkey. Tourism has really taken off in Turkey over the past few years and visitor numbers have increased every year, this will rise again for 2012 and beyond.
Why you might ask, well Turkey, still retains its own currency so not tied to the unfortunate Euro. Cost of eating out, trips out with the family all remain well within eveyones reach.
There's plenty here to do no matter what your tastes are, beachlovers and watersport enthusiasts, plenty for the historian in you, local trips in each area, mud baths and heathy spas to visit, turtle watching, trips to greek islands, and all the things you would associate with holiday resorts.
2012 sees the opening of a new International Terminal at Bodrum, catering for many more people, the airport will have many more shops and facilities than currently exist, and with state of the art security. This is expected to take around 5 million tourists a year now into the region.

One such resort in Turkey is Altinkum which actually means (Golden Sands)and there is plenty for everyone whatever your age. Strolling along the newly laid promenade overlooking the lovely sandy beach you will pass a host of restuarants, Turkish, English and International cuisine all being served, again something for everyone. There are shops selling an assortment of goods, leather, jewellery, souvenirs.
The vast sandy beaches with shallow blue waters are perfect and safe for young children, there are several small beach clubs for the older ones, and plenty of sand to just chill and relax on. In the evening the fun fair for the children is at the far end of the promenade and is perfect for younger ones.
During the summer months, there are free concerts in the evening on the main beach and also at the new marina.
You can easily visit the resorts of Bodrum and Kusadasi which are only about an hour away. You can hop on the local Dolmus and visit the small resorts of Akbuk and Mavishar the latter having a super Night Market and Water Park.
2009, saw the opening of the biggest Marina on the Aegean, add to this the designer shops moving onto this superb complex, the Yacht Club which has now opened, the sports facilities, the superb decking area's bars and restaurants, and the resort will begin to take on a different face. Bodrum in Turkey is the most international town on the Aegean coastline and boasts a wide selection of international and local style restaurants, bars and night clubs.
Bodrum Centre has a well established marina with an abundance of boat trips available, fabulous bars and restuarants and designer shops, excellent for enjoying a meal and then sipping a long cool drink whilst people watching.
There are many concerts and exhibitions here, and the castle is well worth a visit,
If you want to party, visit the resort town of Gumbet a great place for the older children, and there are many many bars and nightclubs here to choose from.
Visit the new Vita Park Golf Course, located just outside Bodrum, by lake Tuzla and close to the airport.
Along with all the usual tourist attractions, each of the penninsular towns, have there own identities and many have lovely fish restuarants, and rental properties here have stunning sea views.

Kusadasi is located on the Aegean Coast, it over looks the Greek Island of Samos. Kusadasi has plenty to offer with is lovely beaches with waters-sports and scuba diving available. Daily boat trips on a traditional Turkish sailing boat taking you round beautiful blue lagoons where you can take a dip and fishing equipment is available on the boat to use.
For those who have an interest in history, there are the ancient ruins of Ephesus to visit, this is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and it's only half an hour away! Also Priene and Miletos are worth exploring, there is also the natural spas of Pamukkale to visit.
Kusadasi town and surrounding areas have an excellent infrastructure. You can find many Western high-street names here – from to Tesco (Kipa), and B&Q (Koçtas) and plenty of small grocery shops dotted around.
And lets on forget the night life Kusadasi has an abundance of bars, restaurants and the night life here is excellent for those who want to stay up until the early hours!
