I bought in 2008 from A Place in the Sun, NEC Birmingham and never looked back

During my visit to A Place In The Sun Live in Birmingham in October 2008 I was so convinced that I had found my perfect holiday home that I paid the deposit in the property in Turkey without seeing it first.

I have several friends who have bought in Turkey and were extolling its virtues, so I went to A Place in the Sun Live specifically to look at property in Turkey and explore what the country could offer. At the exhibition I had the opportunity of touring the whole Turkish section. The exhibitors were very open and honest, even willing to steer me away from properties they didn’t think would suit me.

I felt that visiting the show would give me a chance to meet potential companies on a face to face basis, which I felt was important and I chose Turkish Connextions as they were a UK based Company, They had been in the business a substantial number of years and they made me feel comfortable and at ease.

I was attracted by the central location of an apartment in Altinkum, A small holiday town on Turkey's Aegean Coast, being sold by agents Turkish Connextions. The Duplex id just 400 meters from the beach and within easy reach of the local restaurants and shops. I have a 17 year old daughter as well as older kids with children of their own, and I didn’t want to buy a place where we had to hire a bus or car to get to the entertainment. Altinkum is pretty flat, too, so it’s even suitable for my elderly parents to visit.

Unable to take advantage of an offered exploratory visit, I followed up the references given to him by Turkish Connextions, and finding them all positive I put down my deposit on the duplex, sight unseen.

I first saw the apartment at Christmas, and the reality was even better than I hoped it was probably the worst season to go out - the resort was pretty quiet and there wasn't much in the way of sun, but we still loved it. Going at that time of year gave us a good idea of what off-season life there was like, which is useful for making decisions in the future about whether we could live there year round.

Having completed the purchase in the New Year a second visit in May complete with sunshine confirmed my delight in this decision.

The whole process was seamless.
