When the unthinkable happens

We bought our apartment in 2006 from Turkish Connextions and even still we are able to contact them for advice and help, and on this occassion their help was invaluable to us at a most harrowing time.

When you teenage daughter contracts menıngitis and you are ın a forgeıgn country you don't know what to expect or hope for, but when this happened to us in August 2008 the local A & E department once suspected were quick to rush our daughter to a specialist hospital about and hour and a half away.

As she was infectious we had to make our own way there, but thanks to the help of Turkish Connextions we were quickly on our way to join her, fearing the worst but praying for the best.

The staff at Aydin Adnan Menderes University Hospital were quick to explain that she was unconscious and that the next 24hours were critical, but because she was a fit/strong fighter they were hopeful.

To our relief about 12 hours later she regained consciousness and recognised us and was able to talk.

She stayed ın the hospıtal for 14 days and we were able to stay with her the whole time, the hospıtal looked after us the whole time and sorted out everything. At times we found our lack of language skills a bit difficult but all the staff and support staff showed great understanding and patience and nothing was too much trouble.

We believe that it was the quıck response of the medical staff at both hospitals that our daughter lives to tell the tale and has now made a full recovery.
