Major players like Lee Westwood, Justin Rose and other European top players took part in the Turkish Airlines Open at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal in the Belek region of the Antalya district. The tournament began on the 7th November until the 10th.

The Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Course was deisgned by world famous golfer Colin Montgomerie back in 2008. This course is one of the largest facilities in Belek and has been described as the most exciting, toughest and finest golf courses in the world. The 18 hole course is set within 104 hectares of pine forest with 8 lakes and 7 hectares of bunkers.

The final 6 golfers Benjamin Hebert, Victor Perez, Tyrrell Hatton, Kurt Kitayama, Matthias Schwab and Erik Van Rooyen all shot 20-under-par 268s for 72 holes over the 7,133 yard course. By sunset only 3 remained.

The tournament went on so late the floodlights where switched on. In the end we saw Tyrrell Hatton as the last man standing. The 28 year old golfer from High Wycombe won the Turkish Airlines Open tournament and was presented with a trophy and a prize of $2 million.
