Belek is located 30km on the east side of Antalya on the Turkish Riviera. Belek is a purpose built, luxury resort surrounded by white sandy beaches and pine forests. But what it is really famous for is golf.
During the last five years, Belek has been firmly put on the golfing map and stars such as Tiger Woods have added to the thousands of golfers who visit every year. With its rapid growth over the last decade the resort of Belek is beginning to rival Portugal's Algarve for the numbers of its golfing tourists.
Belek was named 'Europe's Best Golf Destination' at the Golf Magazine Awards back in 2013 and it continues to be more popular each year. There are some fantastic golf courses to enjoy.
It is less expensive to play here than in Spain or Portugal plus the warmer winters make Belek a year-round golf destination. All the courses boast well-equipped clubhouses, experienced pros and top-class amenities, including club hire.
The Corneila Golf Club was created by Nick Faldo, it was opened back in 2006 and is said to be the toughest golf course in Turkey. The 27 hole golf course is situated on the eastern side of Belek in a stunning forest location. The club features a David Leadbetter Academy with a driving range, 3 putting greens ,2 chipping and pitching greens and separate practice areas.
There is also the Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Course, which of course was deisgned by world famous golfer Colin Montgomerie back in 2008. This course is one of the largest facilities in Belek and has been described as the most exciting and one of the finest golf courses in the world. The 18 hole course is set within 104 acres of pine forest and lakes. The club house is one of the best in Belek featuring a large terrace overlooking the golf course and surrounding scenery and offers a amazing selection of cuisine.
If you are not a fan of golf and history is more your thing then why not plan a day trip to visit the nearby archaeological sites such as the Roman amphitheatre at Aspendos and the ancient Greek city of Perge's colonnaded streets.
The beaches of Belek are a great way to spend the day relaxing in the sunshine, plus they offer all types of water sport and beach activities such as water-skiing, windsurfing and sailing. You can also enjoy the Belek Beach Park which is a new waterside facility. A small fee will be charged giving you access to the sunbeds, changing facilities, great restaurants, water sports and boat trips.
Another great day out is to the Dolphin Aquarium, where you will be able to see sea lions and get the chance to swim with dolphins. For fun with the family check out some of Belek's excellent water parks such as the Troy Aqua Park at the Rixos Premium Hotel, the biggest water park in the Mediterranean.
Belek has a delightful town centre where the mosque stands alongside statues and a waterfall leading to extensive shopping in the tree lined boulevards. There is a variety of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. Belek has a market held every Saturday.
There are many five-star hotels in Belek and they offer great dining. The restaurant at the National Golf Club has a very good reputation and offers International and Turkish cuisine. In comparison to much of Europe, dining is very good value for money so visiting fine dining establishments is more affordable.
Voyage Belek Golf & Spa hotel features a 5,000 square metre Spa and Wellness Centre offering a range of therapies and beauty treatments. The Rixos Pemium Belek Royal SPA has a range of treatments including hydro massage for a deep relaxation treatment.
KADRIYE is a small town and is neighbors to Belek. Kadriye does not have a big town centre, but there are a few good restaurants, some shops and a market is held every Tuesday.
Belek is surrounded with historical attractions, add to this the Saklikent Ski Resort, the PGA approved golf courses, blue flag beaches and a large selection of five star hotels, this area is up and coming!

Blue Flag Beach-
One of Belek’s highlights is its beautiful Blue Flag Beach. This glorious sandy beach is 16 kilometers in length and comes with all sorts of extras too, like showers and changing rooms. This is a very popular spot for all to enjoy.
Belek is known for its fantastic golf courses. They spread out from the resort and out into the Antalya region. Keen golfers can enjoy the sun while they tee off and enjoy the many courses that have been designed by the likes of Nick Faldo. After a long game there are plenty of clubhouses where you can sit back and relax.
Troy Aqua and Dolphinarium Water Park-
This fantastic water park is a great day out for all the family to enjoy. There are many pools, including a wave pool, plenty of slides, an adventure river and an aquarium containing sharks, dogtooth groupers, thornback rays, octopuses, Mediterranean morays and tropical fish. Part of Troy Aqua is Dolphinarium where you sit and enjoy shows featuring whales, dolphins and walruses. You can also have the opportunity to swim with the dolphins. It really is the perfect fun filled day out.
Roman Ruins at Perge-
Situated twenty minutes away from Belek are is this incredible and very well preserved Roman ruins. You can explore the what once was the amphitheater, the Roman temple and the public baths. In the road, grooves from the chariot wheels can be still be seen. You can really get a sense of what life whats like back then.
