Dalaman is a small town situated on the south east Aegean Coast of Turkey. Dalaman is famous for its beautiful, unspoilt beaches. It is also well known for its International Airport, which serves as far as Kalkan to Marmaris, as well as the central town which offers a lovely array of shops and restaurants.
Dalaman offers a wide variety of foods. There are plenty of pizzerias and burger outlets, but there is also lots of places where you can taste the local cuisine that’s on offer in traditional tavernas and rustic restaurants.
For those who prefer dining more upmarket then you can always head to the high-end harbourside restaurants in Marmaris or dine on simple but delicious dishes at one of the family-friendly beach cafés.
There are beaches only twenty minutes’ drive from Dalaman, one being the village of Sarigerme where things take a slower laid-back pace, in the village centre you will find a few bars and restaurants, all is very chill in this village. It’s a different speed down on the sandy beach, the sweeping stretch of beach is popular with kite boarders.
Also just outside Sarigerme is the The Hilton International Resort Spa and Golf, another plus for this area. The golf resort has a very special and unique feature as it allows smaller yachts to enter through Dalaman River and into an artificial built lake within the golf course.
Serigarme Agriculture, particularly citrus fruits, plays an important role in the local economy, since it is situated in such a fertile plain at sea level. Walk along the Iztuzu beach 6km long, and keep a close eye open for its famous sea turtles.
There are many places to explore, such as the beautiful Butterfly Valley, which is only accessible by boat. Spend a day here and see if you can find the different species of butterfly that live here, there are hundreds. This makes a lovely trip out with its beautiful beach and steep cliffs overlooking the sea, the view is incredible.
For those who love history then why not explore the Marmaris Castle which offers an exciting insight into 16th Century life, and the eerie Lycian rock tombs give you an atmospheric peek into Dalamans ancient past.
You can travel over to the nearby town of Kerkova which has a whole town that has been underwater since ancient times. This makes a perfect day out, you can take a guided boat tour or you could even hire out a kayak and explore the market squares and rooftops yourself.
If you fancy something a little different then why not take a trip down to the Dalaman River where you will find a healing mud bath. You can take a dip and let the mud rejuvenate your skin before washing it off in the shower. There is a lovely lake where you can splash about in afterwards. The Mud baths are a real treat and very popular with tourists, there are now many spas offering all the treatments you would need to revitalize your skin.
Visit Oludeniz (dead sea) and see the vibrant mix of colours and swim in its tepid waters, Oludeniz is one of the most recognised areas of Turkey.

Sarigerme Kite Festival - The festival will take place on Sarigerme Sarced Beach and is for any one at any age. A contest will be held for the best kite. The festival will begin around 11am and will end around 5pm (1st April - 31st May)
