Located in the Bursa Province of Turkey is Uludag, the ancient Mysian Olympus, also known as ‘Snow Paradise’. Uludag has been named the most popular winter sports activity centre in Turkey.
Uludag, which means ‘great mountain’ stands at 2,543 metres (8,340 feet). Between the months of December and April its great slopes are coated with snow. This fantastic ski resort gets visitors from all around the world as it caters for all.
There are faciltiies for hire, trainers and guides. There are many activities available such as cross-country skiing, heli-skiing and snowboarding. All areas are equipped with ariel and surface lifts, plus there are snowmobiles as well as ATV trips. All areas are graded accordingly for all ability levels.
Uludag is also a designated National Park area so it is filled with great places to go for a long walk or hike and enjoy the beautiful snowy surroundings. Uludag is the perfect for nature-watchers. During the spring and summer months you will be able to discover thousands of plants species from the slopes. It truly is a wonderful site.
Uludag is also a great place to enjoy a family holiday. There is something for everyone at every age. The site features swimming pools, fitness centres and saunas. There are great shopping facilities available as well as lovely cafes and great bars and restaurants. In the evenings there is lively nightlife as well as shows and entertainment.
If you wish to travel to Uludag by car then it is around 25 miles south of the Bursa city centre. You can always arrange transport with one of the tour operators in Istanbul. They can book you a bus journey if you are looking for a short break away.
