Largest Increase in History

Property sales in Turkey are most definitely on the rise, especially from foreign buyers, as for the first 11 months of 2019 over 40,000 homes were bought, which equates to an approximate increase of 32% on the previous year.

Istanbul came in first place, and was the most popular location for foreigners, who bought over 18,000 homes, an increase of 50% from 2018 and Antalya came in second with 7,994 properties sold. These figures, though brilliant, aren’t surprising though given the amount of Investment that has been put into the construction sector in larger cities, with an emphasis on multi-use complexes, allowing for ultra-modern residential developments to be built alongside shopping centres, retail units, office blocks & restaurants/bars, therefore making them highly attractive to investors.

Purchases in the prime holiday spots & coastal areas also increased as people looked to Turkey as an alternative location for a holiday home with most of the buyers coming from the UK, Germany & Russia.

Figures for the whole year haven’t been released as yet, but the indication is that they will exceed 45,000 properties, which will break a record, making it the highest number in history.
