December 15th saw Istanbul Aiport gain global recognition as it was given a 5 star rating by the London based air transport agency Skytrax, which has been providing audits and star ratings to airports and airlines since 1989.
It was no surpise Istanbul Airport would eventually be rewarded. The airport offers a flawless, high level travel experience, it has superb technology, it is unqiue in its architectural design and has strong infrastrcuture. So it is now wonder that is has become one of eight major 5 star Airports in the world.
The Airport has also been applauded also as a 5 star Covid 19 Airport as it has taken such strong measures to ensure safe travel throughout the ongoing pandemic. It enforced extensive signage and guidance for all passengers, a variety of hand sanitizing facilities, disposal points for PPE, it maintained all social distancing measurements and has followed all protocol to the highest standard.
The Airport also gained recognition for being the Airport with the largest terminal in the world.
The CEO and general manager of IGA Kadri Samsunlu has stated that the airport has managaed to establish a customer-oriented culture. He went on to say that "We will advance this even further, and our work in this respect is continuing apace."
The CEO of Skytrak Edward Plaisted stated that Istanbul Airport is an outstanding engineering achievement with its terminal, which boasts a capacity of 90 million passengers. He added "This grand airport has an impressive diversity of passenger facilities, with an ease of accessibility to different terminal areas."
