Located in the Denizli Province of Turkey is the breath-taking and one of Mother Natures marvels, the Pamukkale!!

The Pamukkale, also known as the "cotton castle", offers natural calcium water filled pools dotted over a hillside. You can enjoy paddling in the pools and as they are set 160 metres high you will also be able to enjoy gazing out at the beautiful views over the village and the spectacular surrounding landscape.

After you have enjoyed paddling about in the warm waters, take a trip to the Pamukkale Museum located within walking distance. Here you will see a collection of artifacts and historical statues and some great exhibitions of artifacts uncovered in the ancient cities of Hierapolis and Laodicea.

Go and explore the ancient ruins of Hierapolis. The ruins are spread out a distance so good hardy shoes must be worn. Back in Roman times, soliders would come here to bathe in the thermal waters as they helped heal their injuries. The ruins include the Byzantine south gate, Triton fountain, Necropolis, the old bath complex and the old city wall. The ancient theatre is probably the most marvellous construction here standing at an impressive 91 metres in height.

Cool off in the soothing spring waters of Cleopatra's pool. This amazing pool is filled with sunken ruined columns from the ancient city of Hierapolis making it very unique. The beautiful surrounding gardens and lovely views makes this a wonderful place to relax in a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere.

You can end the day by visiting the Natural Park located at the very bottom of the travertines. The park features a small lake where you can enjoy a relaxing trip in a pedalo, or why not sit on a bench and enjoy a picnic. The views of the calcium pools are fantastic from this angle.

Pamukkale is by far one of Turkey' most miraculous and unqiue sites, and even the worlds!!

2019 saw a whopping 2.58 million people visit the Pamukkale, making it one of Turkey's top attractions.

Note: an entrance fee is required at the Pamukkale, the Museum and Cleopatra's pool
