October 16-17 will see some of the world's top runners gather together in Turkey to compete in a challenging marathon at none other than Turkey's famous Cappadocia!!
The marathon named the Salomon Cappadocia Ultra Trail will be taking in Turkey's Nevsehir province and will be one of the most scenic routes the runners have ever taken. The event is to feature 3 different types of race, the ultra, the medium and the short trail. There will also be flag races named Cappadocia Team Games.
It has been reported that more than 2,000 athletes will be taking part with French athlete Mathieu Blanchard being the headliner after finishing 3rd at the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc. Other athletes such as Belgium's Manuellla Soccol, Fedrik Vancraeynest and Switzerland's Deigo Pazos will also be taking part in the race.
Representing Turkey in the marathon is Kemal Kukul, Mehmet Soyturk and Meryem Kilnic Gundogdu. Kemal Kukul is the only Turkish athlete to step onto the podium at UMTB.
Around 5000 guests and tourists will be arriving for this year's race at the Cappadocia. It will be a race like no other!!
