New Apple store opened in Istanbul triggers hope for production investment in Turkey

Apple has just opened it largest store on Bagdat Avenue in Istanbul which will serve as Apple’s third retail spot in Turkey. The opening of the store also got USA tech giant Apple in talks about production in Turkey.

Celebrating the grand opening of the new store Apple CEO Tim Cook took to twitter to say “we’re glad to be a part of this vibrant community and we can’t wait to welcome customers to this spectacular new space.”

Deputy minister of transport and infrastructure Omer Fatih Sayan visited the store and congratulated Cook and expressed his hopes of the company investing in the production side in Turkey.

Sayan went on to tweet “Congrats @tim_cook on your beautiful Apple in magnificent Istanbul.” “I hope that it will be even more beautiful by hosting local app developers to reach global markets. I also hope to see production investments by Apple in Turkey.”

The new Apple store has been built over two levels and has been designed to create a more open space allowing customers to explore the products and services.

To celebrate the new store Apple will debut Perspektif Istanbul which is a six week Today at Apple program which will pay homage to Istanbul and its creatives. The program will be hosted by 20 local artists bringing creativity, culture and technology together creating an experience which will examine both the values and the topics which are most important within the community.
