The first batch of tourists flew from the UK over to Mugla's beauitful Bodrum district to kick off the season after a two year hiatus due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

A total of 180 passengers landed at Bodrum Airport on March 27th and were greeted at the airport with water jewellery. Tourists were also welcomed by the staff with gifts of flowers and sweet treats, plus by the aiport exit there was performances of folk dancing. The planes pilot, the staff and management team even gathered together to cut a cake and have a photo taken in celebration.

An official at Bodrum Airport stated "We are delighted to welcome the first international flight of the season at our airport. We are in cooperation with our stakeholders to provide a safe and comfortable travel experience to our passengers against the pandemic. We anticipate that our passenger traffic will increase this season compared to last year. We hope that our international flights will continue to increase in the coming period and that we will welcome our guests from all over the world."

A recent survey by the UK Post Ofiice's annual Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer showed that Marmaris on Turkey's Aegean Coast is among the best value holiday destinations for British tourists and has taken the top spot from Sunny Beach in Bulgaria due to the decreasing Turkish Lira. With the prices being down in Marmaris it shows that Turkey has become slightly cheaper for British tourists.

Due to the restrictions of the pandemic a total of 393,000 British tourists came over to Turkey last year. The year before the pandemic hit the world on a global scale Turkey welcomed almost 2.6 million British tourists.

Now with life and travel starting to return to normal we should see a definite increase in numbers of holidaymakers coming out to Turkey this year!!
