Just around the corner from this small private complex in the resort is a nice selection of shops, bars and restaurants which are away from the tourist trap offering much better value for money .

The local dolmus is easily found close by and you can get around the resort, the main beach areas, the old town and its traditional markets, the temple of apollo very easily.

If you prefer to walk to the beach it will take you a stroll of about 20 minutes providing you don’t stop and shop on the way there, once to the sea front you will be able to sit and eat in one of the many seafront restuarants and bars serving both traditional and international foods, in the evening the front comes to life and in high season you may find free concerts there, something for all ages is here whatever your tastes.

About Altinkum

Altinkum is a fun-loving beach resort on Turkey’s southwest coast. It’s grown quickly over the past few years, and has merged with its neighbour, Didim – a town with thousands of years of history. Altinkum means golden sands, and it has 3 magnificent beaches. But the nightlife, the vibrant bazaar, and ancient historical sites are equally big draws. The town’s beaches are Main Beach, an 800-metre stretch of sand in the middle of town, backed by a restaurant-packed promenade. The new promenade has new features and nice sitting areas.Many of the Shops, Bars and Resturants have had a complete face lift and the front looks much more up market, the way the resort is going. You can for a small charge spend the day at the Marina Yacht Club or its Beach Club and be pampered, a little holiday treat, and restricted on numbers so you will never be hustling for space.

Just further along there is a small fun fair for the children and an aqua park a short Dolmus ride away close to Mavisher, here you will also find the famous Night Market.

Packed along the promenade, and in Dolphin Square just behind it, are dozens of local restaurants, bars, nightclubs and a bazaar.

Ataturk Boulevard, the road that runs perpendicular to the seafront, connects Altinkum to Didim. This modern town has a large shopping centre, a Saturday market, plus the Temple of Apollo. This was one of the biggest temples of Ancient Greece, and although only 2 of its 122 columns still stand, it’s an impressive sight.
