The Marina Road area of the town has been developed a lot over the last few years and now there is a good selection of supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants.

Altinkum is a resort offering everything, for all ages, and one which is constantly growing, this year many new roads have been laid, the seafront is being upgraded and now has lovely coffee shops overlooking the sea, excellent restaurants to eat in and at night lit up makes an impressive evening stroll a must. The main Boulevard offers shops and restaurants open all year around as this is a working town, so plenty to do here all year. About Altinkum


Altinkum is a fun-loving beach resort on Turkey’s southwest coast. It’s grown quickly over the past few years, and has merged with its neighbour, Didim – a town with thousands of years of history. Altinkum means golden sands, and it has 3 magnificent beaches. But the nightlife, the vibrant bazaar, and ancient historical sites are equally big draws. The town’s beaches are Main Beach, an 800-metre stretch of sand in the middle of town, backed by a restaurant-packed promenade. The new promenade has new features and nice sitting areas.Many of the Shops, Bars and Resturants have had a complete face lift and the front looks much more up market, the way the resort is going. It is a great time to buy Property in Altinkum. At the end of the sea front is the exsisting harbour where banana boats, doughnuts and glass-bottomed boats come and go all day long. You can take boat trips along the coast and to Kos.

The smaller Second Beach is a 5 minutes’ walk away. In the opposite direction is Third Beach – a favourite with families for its shallow waters.

Here also is the newly built D marina. There is a superb complex within the yachting club with up market restaurants and designer shops. You can for a small charge spend the day at the Marina Yacht Club or its Beach Club and be pampered, a little holiday treat, and restricted on numbers so you will never be hustling for space.

Packed along the promenade, and in Dolphin Square just behind it, are dozens of local restaurants, bars, nightclubs and a bazaar.

Ataturk Boulevard, the road that runs perpendicular to the seafront, connects Altinkum to Didim. This modern town has a large shopping centre, a Saturday market, plus the Temple of Apollo. This was one of the biggest temples of Ancient Greece, and although only 2 of its 122 columns still stand, it’s an impressive sight.
